What a Whirlwind Weekend

So after a short but efficient weekend in Pittsburgh and Cleveland Jarrid and I arrived back to Charlotte last night around 7:30. There were a lot of hectic things that have happened over the past couple of days from my car being broken into, to a long ride home to the Burgh on Wednesday night to Jarrid having a fever the whole ride home yesterday. But within all of the struggles we faced this weekend we also accomplished a lot. We have decided to have our reception at the Hyatt Regency at the Pittsburgh Airport. On Thursday morning, Jarrid and I with my mom and sister met up with The Danburgs to tour the hotel and ballroom. Our contact at the hotel is incredible. She made me feel very secure in our decision to hold our even at the hotel and honestly could not be a nicer person. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the second that you step inside you totally forget that you are right next door to the airport. I'm just so excited for all the planning that is going to take place over the next 370 days (yup almost a year to go!). Also while we were in Pittsburgh we were able to meet with our florist, who is awesome, look at some rehersal locations (I think we are pretty much settled on a location but its not official yet so I won't say just yet), and catch a Pirates game at PNC Park. One of the locations that we looked at for the rehersal was actually at PNC Park. We got a chance to tour all of there different options there while also taking in a ball game. The stadium is absolutely an awesome location if you are a baseball fan. I have to admit that I wasn't really looking forward to looking at PNC for a rehersal dinner, but I was plesantly surprised.

After our whirlwind day (yes we did all of that in one day) we hit the road again to head further north to Cleveland. Jarrid and I swung through his old home town where I got to see the house he grew up in, the schools he went to, and all of the hotspots that made Jarrid who he is today. We really had so much fun exploring. After that we went to his parents house for a little while and then to Danielle and Curtis' place to hang out with Hannah and Tyler. Then because we didn't get enough baseball in at PNC Park we headed to the Indians game at Progressive field. This place was awesome! We had suite tickets and Jarrid and I were able to get down in the dugout for the fireworks at the end of the night. Seriously, I think they were the best fireworks I have ever seen. Thanks to Curtis and Mr. Danburg for hooking us up with great seats and all the perks you could ever want at a baseball game. After the game we hung out with some of the Panthers people in for the wedding at an Irish pub called Flannery's. Lots of fun!

The next day we hung out at Curtis and Danielle's to see Hannah and Tyler for a little while. The got dressed and ready for Ryan and Sara's wedding. It was such a beautiful day for a wedding and everything was perfect. Their ceremony was at St. Paul's Shrine and then the reception was at the Hyatt in the Arcade. Everything about the wedding was really nice. We had so much fun dancing and eatting! Jarrid and I are known to cut a rug and that is exactly what we did that night!

The next morning we got up to meet the Danburgs for breakfast and then some quality time at Progressive Field before the game. It was kids day on the plaza so Tyler was dressed up in a Slider Baby costume and Hannah was dancing to all the Disney Radio music. We had so much fun hanging out and we were so sad to have to leave, but we had a 7 and 1/2 hour drive ahead of us. It was a good thing that we left when we did. As we made our way Jarrid started to feel under the weather. He definitely had a fever and we rode all the way home with the heat on so that he wasn't cold. After a long nights rest and literally sweating out the bad stuff, Jarrid felt slightly better today. I have a feeling that the culmination of wedding planning, traveling and day to day stress finally added up and slammed down on him. So if you think of it today say a little prayer that my groom is feeling better soon!
